Our Youth Choir
The church also has a youth choir under the director of assistant pastor Roscoe Asher Jr. and pianist Tammy Smallwood. Starting in 2003, there are about 30 members. They sing regularly in church, usually on Sunday Mornings.
We had several fundraising events for the choir over the years. From monies raised, we took a small trip to a local water park in 2004 & 2005 and in 2003 & 2006, we were able to go to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. We also had a swimming party in July 2007 for our kids. We are planning more fun things for the children in the year.
We had a concert featuring Kevin Wilson in the fall of 2005. Our kids got to open that and did a great job. The Choir also opened a small concert held by 'New Harvest' on Spring of 2006. They also opened for Kevin Wilson in April 2008. The Lord truly blessed this service.
We have also visited different churches and organizations to sing. We sang at Beechfork Community Center Fundraiser in Fall of 2005. We attended a fundraiser for Pine Mountain Church in the Spring of 2007 and a wonderful time was had by all. In February 2008, we had a singing for Hyden Church of God in a good time of fellowship.
We also have planned to visit some church members who are unable to attend church to lift their spirit through song.
We are proud of our youth and their involvment with the youth choir.
